What to wear to aerial classes?

Coming to a new studio can be both exciting and nerve-wrecking. We've all been there – that mix of anticipation and uncertainty. It's tough when you're stepping into the unknown. Wondering what to wear? Don't worry, we're here to take you through the nitty gritty.......

Aerial / Flying Pole

Aerial Pole or Flying Pole needs different activewear than regular aerial classes.  This is an apparatus where you need skin against the apparatus to assist with grip.  Bike shorts that can be pulled up a little are perfect or a sleeveless shirt that can be tucked in or pulled up is also going to work.

X Loose exercise shorts are not recommended as you are going upside down and inverting and straddling your legs so dont want gaps between your clothing and your body.

Aerial Classes

Unlike Aerial Pole, Silks, Hammock, Lyra and Trapeze need a little more clothing.  We actually want less skin contact as with these apparatus its more likely to burn and pinch and we dont need the grip as much, although sometimes in summer its a toss up between heat and pinching.

Leggings with no zips or any fancy buckles or clips is highly recommended.  A shirt or singlet not too loose or that can be tucked in would be best.  Again nothing attached that can snag or get caught on the equipment, which mean zip up jackets are a no no and should be swapped for jumpers in winter.

Kids and Teens

Kids and Teens are very similar to the adult classes.  Something comfortable, not loose and nothing with metal tokens or zippers.  Make sure all jumpers are labeled with their names as we ofen get alot left in the lost property box at the end of the day.

Make sure you bring a water bottle as well!
